What is “Magnets attract & repel”?

Magnets attract & repel is a 3rd grade science skill in the Forces & Magnets region of the TernQuest map — balanced forces, motion & magnets. It is aligned to California Common Core standard 3-PS2-3. Children work through 0 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens magnets attract & repel. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
