What is “Balanced & unbalanced forces”?

Balanced & unbalanced forces is a 3rd grade science skill in the Forces & Magnets region of the TernQuest map — balanced forces, motion & magnets. It is aligned to Next Generation Science Standards standard 3-PS2-1. Children work through 20 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens balanced & unbalanced forces. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
