Why explore?

Why explore? is a 5th grade social studies skill in the Explorer's Cove region of the TernQuest map — why they sailed, their tools, first meetings. It is aligned to California Common Core standard 5.2.1. Children work through 0 grade-tagged questions at the recall level (quick recall), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.
How does it unlock?
Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens why explore?. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
