What is “Teen numbers”?

Teen numbers is a Kindergarten math skill in the Place Value Plateau region of the TernQuest map — build & break apart 2-digit numbers. It is aligned to California Common Core standard K.NBT.1. Children work through 20 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens teen numbers. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
