Structures in action

What is “Structures in action”?

Structures in action is a 4th grade science skill in the Structures & Senses region of the TernQuest map — plant & animal structures, senses & the brain. It is aligned to California Common Core standard 4-LS1-1. Children work through 0 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens structures in action. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
