What is “Short i (sit, pig)”?

Short i (sit, pig) is a Kindergarten reading skill in the Short-Vowel Cove region of the TernQuest map — cat · sun · big — short-vowel words. It is aligned to California Common Core standard RF.K.2d. Children work through 20 grade-tagged questions at the recall level (quick recall), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens short i (sit, pig). A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
