What is “Fraction pieces”?

Fraction pieces is a 3rd grade math skill in the Fraction Falls region of the TernQuest map — split things into equal parts. It is aligned to California Common Core standard 3.NF.1. Children work through 24 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens fraction pieces. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
