What is “First 25 sight words”?

First 25 sight words is a Kindergarten reading skill in the Sight Word Summit region of the TernQuest map — the · was · said — tricky everyday words. It is aligned to California Common Core standard RF.K.3c. Children work through 24 grade-tagged questions at the recall level (quick recall), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens first 25 sight words. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
