What is “Explorers on the coast”?

Explorers on the coast is a 4th grade social studies skill in the Mission & Gold Trail region of the TernQuest map — explorers, missions, ranchos & gold. It is aligned to California Common Core standard 4.2.2. Children work through 0 grade-tagged questions at the recall level (quick recall), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens explorers on the coast. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
