What is “Bossy R”?

Bossy R is a Kindergarten reading skill in the Long-Vowel Lagoon region of the TernQuest map — magic-e & vowel teams: cake · rain · boat. It is aligned to California Common Core standard RF.2.3. Children work through 20 grade-tagged questions at the apply level (applying the idea), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens bossy r. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
