What is “Best material for the job”?

Best material for the job is a 1st grade – 2nd grade science skill in the Materials Matter region of the TernQuest map — solids, liquids, gases & their properties. It is aligned to Next Generation Science Standards standard 2-PS1-2. Children work through 20 grade-tagged questions at the reason level (reasoning it through), and Pip the tern offers a hint — never the answer — when they get stuck.

How does it unlock?

Skills on the map unlock in order: finishing the skill before this one with a mastery score of 60 or more opens best material for the job. A grown-up can also assign it directly from the dashboard, and teachers can assign it to a whole class with a join code.
